Adsorption Performance of Methylene Blue on Mesoporous MCM-41: An Introduction of a Comprehensive Physical Chemistry Experiment

Abstract:

This study reports a comprehensive physical chemistry experiment including MCM-41 synthesis, characterization and adsorption performance. The adsorption processes of methylene blue on MCM-41were measured and analyzed according to Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. This comprehensive experiment could help the students understand the structure-property relationship and adsorption processes on solid surfaces.
