Boosting Interdisciplinary Crossing and Integration of Fundamental Chemistry 2 with Catalytic Application as a Link

Abstract:

Fundamental Chemistry 2 is a fundamental subject facing to the freshmen in the "Top Talent Training Program". Regarding to the situation that the students are lacking of study enthusiasm owing to the loosely correlation between the course and their interesting specialty, we put forward to construct elemental chemistry teaching system with interdisciplinary-crossing characteristic by linking the chemical elemental knowledge with the hot research topic and practical industrial application, where the catalytic applications of the element and compounds are as pointcuts. The aim is to endow students with creative- and analytical-thinking. The distinct teaching feature is the combination of theory and practice.
