Adventures of Three Brothers, ETFE, PTFE, and PVB, in Olympic Architecture

Abstract:

Olympic dream in the eventful years, twice Olympic city during the Chinese renaissance. Based on an anthropomorphic treatment of building materials used in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, this paper introduces three organic materials, ETFE, PTFE, and PVB, used in important Olympic venues such as "Water Cube" "Bird's Nest" and "Ice Ribbon" in the form of a symposium. Furthermore, it discusses their molecular structure, nature, and important role in Olympic architecture.
