A Guide to Decipher the Nomenclature of Some Elements in the Periodic Table

Learning the periodic table is usually the first thing for students in the study of professional English for chemistry. This paper describes a heuristic way to help students to understand, as opposed to simply memorizing elements in the periodic table. By correlating with famous scientists, special geographic names, stars in solar system and deities in mythology, the names of elements are no longer the combinations of letters, but become alive, making the learning process more enjoyable for students.
