Abstract:
It is an important work to choose teaching contents for basic inorganic chemistry course in universities due to limited teaching hours and content complexity of the course. The authors propose four principles for the choice, namely scientificity, systematicness, importance and novelty. The teaching methodology also plays an important role for the course effect. We think that we should not only impart chemical knowledge and theories to the students to let them achieve the preliminary image of chemical world, but also guide students to understand the methodology of logical thinking, so that to enhance their ability of continuous learning. Our teaching practice activities are also briefly introduced.
Key words: Basic inorganic chemistry, Teaching content choice, Teaching methodology
