This short novel combines the romantic poetry with the rigorous chemistry through Xiao Hua's journey to the kingdom of poetry. It elaborates the wonderful and useful chemistry via what Xiao Hua saw, heard, felt in the kingdom of poetry, helping people appreciate the beauty of chemistry and motivate students to learn and research chemistry. It also expresses that scientists may achieve success if they take the correct methods and pay persistent efforts in the scientific research.

Tea polyphenols are the main active substances in pu-erh tea. In this paper, we, in a hint fiction, introduced the basic properties, physiological functions of tea polyphenols and described the effect of production technology on the content of tea polyphenols.

Amid five tastes, only salt is indispensable. As a kind of essential nutrition, salt plays a vital role in our daily life. Although the salt is in small particle size, yet it received a lot of rumors. In recent years, rumors on salt have sprung like mushrooms including sea salt, iodized salt, low sodium salt, additive in salt and so on. To stop the rumors from spreading and to clarify that the salt is innocent, a debate competition was applied to tell the truth:rumors are guilty rather than salt!

Through three stories about nitrates, a storytelling technique is used to describe the main uses of nitrates today, including agricultural fertilizers, industrial explosives, and food preservatives. Nowadays, nitrate is suspected to be the main cause of carcinogenesis, but one coin has two sides; in fact, nitrates play an important role both in the ecological environment and in the human body. Therefore, the public can understand more about the applications of nitrates from this article. Through the accidental discovery of a rural couple in a wartime setting, this article describes the uses of nitrate in agriculture, antiseptic, immune systems and blood circulation system.

Although their contents in the human body are extremely low, even less than 0.01 wt%, trace elements are essential for the human body. As a kind of trace element, zinc plays an important role in human growth and development, reproductive inheritance, immunity, endocrine and other important physiological processes. At the same time, zinc deficiency is also a common phenomenon among Chinese children. Through the fictional experience of the fictional Zinc Gu Cheng, this article uses the anthropomorphic approach to popularize the role of zinc. Finally, the story ends with a little girl's dream. We hope that through this short story, people can understand the importance of zinc to the human body and realize the indispensable role of trace elements.

Using the anthropomorphic approach, this article introduces the discovery history of ruthenium elements in the first person role, and focuses on the ruthenium complexes as important therapeutic agents for cancer treatment. We have focused our attention on KP1019 incorporating ruthenium ions complexes which have been already used in clinical or have been advanced to clinical trials as anticancer agents. Moreover, the half-sandwich ruthenium and ruthenium polypyridine complexes drugs are also reviewed.

This article tries to personify potassium ferrioxalate crystal as "I" to describe the formation process and the factors affecting the growth of potassium ferrioxalate crystal. After growing into beautiful green crystals, I dreamed I was participating in the jewelry beauty contest. A serious of wonderful conversations between emerald and I revealed the properties and applications of potassium ferrioxalate crystal. It inspires and guides students to understand the growth of crystals and their properties, and it also stimulates students' interest in studying chemistry.
