Abstract: Rubber products find extensive applications ranging from high-tech industries to daily life. Most commonly used rubber items are manufactured from natural rubber. This popular science experiment demonstrates the four key manufacturing processes—mastication, plasticization, mixing, and vulcanization—through the production of small rubber items like badges, elastic bands, and rubber balls, while revealing the underlying chemical principles involved in rubber product manufacturing.
