Abstract: Under the “dual-carbon” strategic framework, physical chemistry education necessitates innovative pedagogical approaches to bridge theoretical knowledge with engineering applications. This study presents a teaching model structured around five progressive modules: (1) Construction and theoretical validation of CO2 phase diagrams, (2) Phase behavior analysis in carbon capture processes, (3) Phase regulation for CO2 pipeline transportation, (4) Phase diagram applications in geological storage, and (5) Integrated CCS system design using CO2 phase diagrams. By synergizing physical chemistry thermodynamics with carbon neutrality technologies, this approach cultivates students’ systematic understanding of phase diagram applications while enhancing their problem-solving capabilities in complex engineering scenarios. The model serves as a replicable prototype for project-based learning reform in physical chemistry education.
