Abstract: This article presents the Tianjin Municipal Special Award for Technological Invention-winning project “High-Temperature Resistant Processable Quantum Dots and Their Light Diffuser Plates” as a subject for science popularization. Using the Jataka Tale of the Deer King from Cave 257 of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes as its narrative framework, the work bridges cutting-edge quantum dot display technology with ancient Dunhuang cultural aesthetics. Through character dialogues and effective rhetorical techniques, it elucidates the scientific principles and technological merits underlying China’s independent intellectual property innovations. This approach helps demystify advanced technological achievements, facilitates their integration with science popularization, enhances youth scientific literacy, bolsters national confidence and unity, and inspires young generations to pursue scientific careers in service of the nation.

Key words: Popularization of chemistry, Dunhuang’s nine-colored deer, Quantum dots, Quantum dot light diffuser plate technology, Quantum confinement effect
