Abstract: The pure water system is a fundamental infrastructure for chemical experiment teaching and scientific research in universities, and its performance directly affects experimental accuracy and research efficiency. Traditional distillation systems consume excessive water and energy, whereas ion-exchange systems require constant monitoring and frequent resin replacement—limitations that fail to meet the intelligent and large-scale requirements of modern experimental education. The Chemical Experiment Teaching Center at Hunan University has implemented an upgraded secondary reverse osmosis pure water system tailored to its specific experimental needs and spatial limitations. This automated system operates without supervision and delivers purified water directly to laboratory terminals through an optimized pipeline network, with selected access points connected to ultra-pure water systems for high-precision experiments. The implementation has significantly reduced operational costs and maintenance demands while extending the lifespan of ultra-pure water equipment. More importantly, it ensures stable water supply for experimental teaching, thus supporting curriculum optimization and talent development. This economical and practical model provides valuable references for establishing pure water systems in chemical experiment teaching centers at other universities.
