Abstract: While persimmons offer substantial nutritional value, their tannic acid content can interact with various substances upon ingestion, potentially posing health risks that are frequently overlooked in daily consumption. This popular science experiment selects common dietary items including persimmons, tea, milk, soy milk, eggs, and rice vinegar. By leveraging the chemical properties of tannic acid, we have developed an interactive demonstration framework suitable for participants of all ages. The initiative seeks to vividly convey the beauty of chemistry through engaging methodologies, address prevalent dietary misconceptions, and ultimately enhance public awareness regarding health and safety as well as scientific literacy.
