Abstract: In recent years, the growing prevalence of long-wearing cosmetic products-particularly waterproof formulations-has necessitated more advanced makeup removal solutions. This article employs chemical principles and allegorical narrative to comparatively analyze the mechanisms and characteristics of three primary cleanser types: oil-based, water-based, and emulsion-based makeup removers. We aim to demystify skincare cleansing methods and help people to better understand the mechanism of makeup removal.
