Abstract:

The ammonia usage in CaO2 preparation through CaCl2 and H2O2 was investigated by the reaction thermodynamics and the designed experiments. The results show that calcium peroxide production is related with the ammonia usage. When the molar ratio of NH3/Ca2+ is less than 2, CaCl2 could not converse completely. With the molar ratio of NH3/Ca2+ reaching 2, high amount of CaO2 and small amount of Ca(OH)3 were achieved. This molar ratio of 2 is suggested to be reasonable in the CaO2 preparation design.
