Abstract:

Traditional physical chemistry experiments, including heat of combustion, transference number determination using the moving-boundary method, and critical micelle concentration, are discussed by means of a case study. This case study is a necessary supplement and improvement of the experimental content and data-analysis process for meeting the requirements of high-level innovation and competency. Practice showed that the enrichment and strengthening of the experimental theories and models effectively improved the academic levels of experimental teaching. The students' abilities to analyze data were also improved. Thus, the "golden course" criteria was satisfied.
