Abstract: Chemistry History and Methodology, as an elective course within the chemistry major, carries significant educational responsibilities. To explore the synergistic educational function of Chemistry History and Methodology in the context of the new era, this paper delves into the ideological and political elements inherent in the course. Building upon the foundational significance and integration of Chemistry History and Methodology into ideological and political education, the paper focuses on the case study of “China’s Chemical Industry Pioneers” within the specialized topic of Chemistry History and Methodology at Anhui Normal University. This case study, rooted in the spirit of scientists, serves as a basis for the development and practical implementation of ideological and political teaching within the course. Both questionnaire surveys and interviews indicate that this approach has yielded favorable teaching outcomes.
