Abstract: To enhance undergraduate students’ practical skills, this comprehensive experiment involves the synthesis of an organometallic iridium complex through organic synthesis, followed by an investigation of its photophysical properties. The experimental procedures encompass material synthesis, separation and purification, structure and property characterization. This multifaceted experiment covers a broad range of topics and provides a rich knowledge base. Our objective is to systematically develop students’ research skills, cultivate their understanding of the structure-performance relationships in organic optoelectronic materials, and broaden their academic horizons.
