Abstract: Taking the revision of Organic Chemistry textbook as an opportunity, this paper analyzes the prevalent issues in current textbooks: outdated content updates; indistinct teacher-training characteristics; limited integration of ideological and political education elements; and poor applicability, with a low degree of alignment with the actual teaching situations of local colleges and universities as well as students' needs. Based on this, we propose the construction of a four-in-one organic chemistry textbook system integrating “cutting-edge nature, teacher-training character, ideological and political nature, and applicability”. By incorporating cutting-edge scientific research achievements, highlighting teacher-education characteristics, infiltrating ideological and political elements, and comprehensively enhancing the textbook's applicability in terms of content organization and difficulty control, among other aspects, we aim to achieve innovation and upgrading of the textbook system, lay a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality chemistry teaching talents in local colleges and universities, and provide practical reference examples for textbook development at similar institutions.
