Abstract: The ds-block elements constitute a distinct region in the periodic table. With advancements in science and technology, these elements have become increasingly closely associated with four major areas of chemical research in the 21st century: materials science, environmental studies, energy applications, and biological systems. This paper aims to elucidate the unique electronic configuration of ds-block elements from an instructional perspective, along with their derived physicochemical characteristics and biological impacts. These discussions serve to strengthen fundamental knowledge of ds-block elements, enhance interdisciplinary understanding, improve students' scientific literacy, and foster innovative thinking.
