Abstract: An integrated ideological and political education model for physical chemistry course based on the BOPPPS framework, bridge-in, objectives, pre-assessment, participatory learning, post-assessment and summary. Based on the knowledge of the Carnot cycle, a three-dimensional progressive teaching system of “knowledge-ability-ideological and political education” was established. The ideological and political elements were deeply explored, and the ideological and political contents such as emotional identification, responsibility assumption, professional quality, and patriotism were naturally integrated into the professional teaching. A “pre-class introduction - in-class advancement - post-class extension” method for ideological and political education was established. Practice has shown that the BOPPPS advanced teaching model has effectively enhanced students’ professional and ideological and political qualities, increased the interest and effectiveness of the courses, and provided a reference for the reform of core ideological and political teaching in physics chemistry and other related science and engineering disciplines.
