Abstract: This study examines the significance and imperative of pedagogical reform in Physical Chemistry courses under the framework of engineering professional certification. The analysis begins with an assessment of current instructional practices, encompassing course introduction, pedagogical methodologies, and evaluation systems, while identifying limitations inherent in conventional teaching approaches. Building upon these findings, the research proposes a reformed teaching paradigm aligned with professional certification standards, characterized by “ideological and political education integration, outcome-based orientation, and continuous quality enhancement”. Post-implementation data reveals consistent annual improvements in course excellence rates coupled with declining failure rates. The attainment of course learning objectives has shown progressive advancement, with parallel improvements in satisfaction metrics from both students and employers. These reforms have demonstrably enhanced course quality and graduate competitiveness, thereby effectively supporting the engineering accreditation objectives for the Applied Chemistry program and ensuring the realization of its talent cultivation targets.
