Abstract: One of the important tasks of ideological and political education in the curriculum is to culture students’ critical thinking skills. The ability of critical thinking enables students not to blindly follow, and to think about problems actively and independently, and through differentiation and analysis, enable students know what to believe and what not to believe, which is the basis of innovation. Chemical rumors are closely related to people’s daily life. This article proposes the “three-section” mixed teaching mode, takes chemical rumors as examples of ideological and political education in the curriculum and introduces them into the teaching of organic chemistry to cultivate students’ critical thinking skills as well as their comprehensive quality.

Key words: Organic chemistry, Curriculum-based ideological and political education, Critical thinking, Chemical rumors, Differentiation and analysis
