Abstract: As an emerging class of three-dimensional self-assembled nanomaterials, noble metal aerogels (NMAs) have garnered significant research interest due to their unique combination of the excellent physicochemical properties inherent to noble metals and the distinctive structural advantages of self-supporting porous aerogel networks. This review highlights key advancements in NMA research over the past decade, encompassing their discovery, synthetic approaches, gelation mechanisms, and diverse applications in electrocatalysis, sensing, and self-propelled devices. Current challenges and future research directions in this field are also critically discussed.
