Abstract:

This paper illustrates a laboratory training experiment covering polymer chemistry, electrosynthesis and instrumental analysis. In this experiment, the temperature-responsive microgel is synthesized following e-ATRP via electrochemically active polymerization on a commercialized electrochemical reaction device, and then temperature-responsive property of the microgels is characterized by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer and dynamic light-scattering. This experiment is based on the research of cutting-edge topics, allowing expanding to the synthesis of other polymers or using a variety of electrochemical technology, which is helpful to train the students' awareness of interdisciplinary integration thinking and environmental awareness, and to train the students' innovation ability.
