Abstract:

Owing to the cultivation international talents meeting Chinese oil and gas exploration and development, as well as "The Belt and Road" strategy, the applied chemistry specialty of Xi'an Shiyou University, relying on the first-class doctoral program in petroleum and natural gas engineering and the first-class master program in chemistry, has formulated and implemented the professional training program according to emerging engineering education (3E) project and characterized by petroleum and petro-chemical engineering. The specialty construction is mainly based on building the "golden course" in professional core course, and we create curriculum groups designated for engineering issues, merging course ideology and politics. Importantly, we pay attention to teacher team construction, increase the percentage of dual-qualified teachers gradually, and deepen the integration of basic chemistry and professional teachers with special backgrounds. Furthermore, we have established 9 experimental practice teaching platforms and 5 training bases based on interdisciplinary integration of related disciplines, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship education, and deepening cooperation with industrial enterprises, universities and institutes. Fortunately, we have comprehensively improved the quality of talents cultivation and the level of specialty construction. In 2020, the applied chemistry specialty has been approved as the provincial first-class specialty construction, holding specialized and advantageous subjects at oil and gas field chemistry in western China.
