Abstract:

Based on the laboratory teaching resources in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, East China Normal University, an open-to-public chemical science base has been constructed for the teenagers. With visual effects that embody different themes and experimental contents on hardware, this popular science base can be used for both chemistry laboratory teaching, as well as science and technology demonstration. Some special chemistry practice courses have been set up, and a series of interesting chemistry experiments and chemical inquiry projects have been designed, which facilitate chemical practice and chemical research for a variety of people in the public. Custom-designed for primary and high school students and teachers, and the students in the normal university, a "three-in-one" teaching practice mode has been established, which effectively solve the contradiction between the functions of service society and the education training objectives in the university. The construction of the popular science base of East China Normal University has made exploration and practice beneficial to stimulating teenagers' interest in science, training exploration and innovation ability in chemistry experiment, and realizing the social service function of universities.
