Abstract:

The design concept and basic structure of a teaching mass spectrometer are introduced. The mass spectrometer is modular and comprises a sample input system, an ion source, a mass analyzer, a detector, a vacuum system, a control system, and a computer system. Therefore, students can independently assemble and adjust the mass spectrometer. Considering the "Construction, debugging, and application of a teaching mass spectrometer" experiment as an example, the application of the teaching mass spectrometer in experimental teaching is introduced. By independently assembling the instrument, students should become intimately familiar with mass spectrometers. In addition, students should gain a thorough understanding of mass spectrometry and instrument structure, thereby improving their practical skills and knowledge.
