Abstract: This study conducts teaching practice for ideological and political education in the instrumental analysis course with local characteristics, using the theme of “telling compelling stories about Chinese chromatography” as its central focus. Taking high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in the instrumental analysis course as an example, the research integrates ideological and political teaching elements into pre-class, in-class, and post-class instructional phases through modern media platforms such as Zhihuishu, Chaoxing Yuclass, and DingTalk. A diversified assessment system is established based on teaching stages to monitor and evaluate students' learning outcomes. While delivering professional knowledge, this case study has effectively stimulated students' learning interest and helped them develop professional identity, enabling them to remain true to their original aspirations. It cultivates a courageous spirit of scientific exploration, fosters innovation awareness in pursuing excellence, instills a sense of mission to serve the nation through science and technology, strengthens national confidence and patriotism, promotes the craftsman spirit of rigor and pragmatism, and advocates the sustainable development concept of green environmental protection.
