Abstract: Heterogeneous catalyst materials based on advanced oxidation processes and their applications represent a frontier direction in organic wastewater treatment. Integrating this topic into undergraduate laboratory teaching is of significant value for cultivating innovative talents in chemistry. In this experiment, a cutting-edge technology was transformed into a comprehensive design experiment for undergraduates through project-based learning. Students were guided to design and prepare a bimetallic iron-copper-loaded carbon nanotube catalyst (Fe-Cu-CNT). Characterization, response surface methodology, and mathematicalphysical models were employed to investigate the reaction conditions and mechanism of methylene blue (MB) degradation. This experiment deepens students’ understanding of frontier technologies, reinforces the chemical disciplinary concept of “structure–property–application”, and enhances their self-driven learning, research capabilities, and awareness of sustainable development.
