Abstract: Against the backdrop of the deepening Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality strategy and the accelerating transformation of the global energy landscape, energy chemistry—an interdisciplinary field bridging fundamental science and energy technologies—has imposed new demands on the cultivation of versatile, high-caliber talent. The conventional talent development model, centered on disciplinary knowledge systems, is increasingly proving inadequate in addressing the rapid advancement of emerging energy technologies and the growing complexity of engineering challenges. Persistent disciplinary silos have led to fragmented knowledge structures and a disconnect between curricula and industrial needs. This paper systematically examines the restructuring of the energy chemistry talent cultivation system, focusing on educational philosophy, curriculum design, experimental and practical instruction, and quality assessment mechanisms. Specifically, it proposes a “five-in-one” competency framework aligned with national energy strategic needs, reconstructs an integrated “foundation-interdisciplinary-frontier-practice” curriculum, reinforces a research-driven approach to experimental teaching, and introduces a multidimensional evaluation system coupled with continuous improvement mechanisms. Together, these elements form a closed-loop architecture that interlinks training objectives, instructional implementation, and feedback-driven evaluation. In parallel, ideological and political education is seamlessly embedded throughout the entire cultivation process, fostering students’ patriotic commitment and their sense of mission in serving the nation’s energy strategy. This work thereby offers a systematic and transferable framework for advancing high-level talent cultivation in energy chemistry in the new era.
