Development of teaching/research aided software for zero-code AI native programming tools: a case study of laboratory chemical reagent management system

Abstract: With the rapid advancement of AI technology, AI-native programming tools are transforming the application software development landscape. This study employs ByteDance’s AI-native programming tools as the core technical framework to demonstrate the rapid development of a laboratory chemical reagent management system, highlighting the innovative application of AI-driven zero-code development in creating teaching and research support tools. The system implements complete AI-assisted development from requirements analysis to deployment, featuring natural language processing, modular auto-generation, and visual debugging capabilities. Key functional modules include automated inventory tracking, reagent safety alerts, and intelligent procurement recommendations. Practical applications demonstrate that researchers without programming expertise can complete functional software development and testing within 0.5–2 days using this tool, significantly lowering the technical barriers for educational and research informatization. This approach provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for digital transformation in chemistry education and research through AI technology.
