Abstract: In the early 20th century, inspired by automobile brake materials, aviation brake materials emerged. They established a strong presence in the materials industry due to their excellent stability, good wear resistance, and ability to operate in complex environments. In recent years, China’s technological advancement has been remarkable, especially in the fields of civil and military aerospace research and development, placing the country at the forefront of global science and technology. Aviation brake materials have thus entered a new era of prominence. This article uses an anthropomorphic approach, depicting a family New Year’s Eve dinner to introduce the development history, chemical processes, and related knowledge of aviation brake materials.

Key words: Aviation brake materials, Physical chemistry, Green chemistry, Non-metal base brake materials
